Intelligent Value Proposition Design is invaluable to get better at Marketing

Good marketing is a result of being able to clearly define and communicate the value you are creating for your potential customers.

When the value proposition fits their needs, solves a problem or brings them a gain you get a conversion, a customer.

When you got this part figured out, message to market fit, congratulations, you are in business and you are truly doing marketing.

Value proposition design makes it easy for you to create your own value proposition map that is matched perfectly to a customer segment profile.

A Value Map consists of 3 parts:

  • Products and services you are offering
  • Gain creators for your customers
  • Pain relievers for your customers

A Customer Profile consists of 3 parts as well:

  • Customer Jobs that need to get done
  • Gains the customer wants
  • Pains the customer wants to avoid

In the case you being able to clearly articulate theses 2 parts, the value map and the customer map you will be able to create way better marketing messages that you can test in the market.

How to use a Value Proposition Template

Using a proven template is always superior to reinventing the wheel yourself. You just have to follow the steps.

Start with the customer and go into the job needs that they need to get done and then try to deeply understand the gains they are after and the pains they want to avoid.

Always remember this in your marketing: after understanding the customer’s needs makes it easier to fine tune your service and product offerings.
