Welcome to my website – I am glad that you are here. Thank you for your interest and attention. My name is Matt Dippl, I am a teacher, coach, and mentor in the Hashimoto’s Healing Space.
Over the last 5 years, my primary focus has been to research Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and it’s various treatment approaches.
Today, I am symptom-free, happy and well.
No more brain fog, tiredness, and sleepless nights due to incessant worries about my future.
No more tears of despair due to fearing that tomorrow could be worse than today.
Today my brain is sharp, I have the energy to live the life that I want.
To make things better I am sleeping next to a newborn baby and a wonderful woman which has a deep love, wonder, and awe for life.
Hashimoto’s as my Hero’s Journey
As a result of having been through my journey of facing and dealing with Hashimoto’s, I am now the creator of my life.
All I had to do was to leave my victim mentality behind. I stopped the excuses, rationalizations and bad feelings coming with them.
I did it because they made me sick.
I made the choice to be a hero, instead of a being a victim and a coward hiding away from life.
The choice for me was to become a master at creating my own identity and reality.
I crafted a vision for my life and I went out into the world to learn the skills that I needed to get well again. And in the end, I became the person I wanted to be.
Chronic sickness is a cry out of our body and mind to deeply look at ourselves and to take stock – by force.
Who am I?
What do I love?
What do I feel?
Who do I want to be?
And no, it’s not all about the supplements, tests, and diets that you perfectly and religiously need to take and stick to.
The Inner and Outer game of Beating Hashimoto’s
The outer stuff is only about 20% of the work you need to do. The other 80% is the deep, hard and confronting inner work.
Finding your love, your forgiveness, and your vision is the big work that will move mountains.
Leaving a painful past behind, and to love deeply again… That’s the deep work.
Feel free to listen to the song below while reading on. It’s one of my favorite pieces of music.
Fill Your mind with good impressions to Heal
I deeply subscribe to the concept of Neuroplasticity and I use Music on a daily level to stimulate my brain, creativity, and emotions.
This song below always gives me hope, drive and inspiration to build a better future for the next generation:
It’s called “We are the Designers!” Enjoy!
The Vision behind my work
I envision a world in which functional medicine and patient-centric care will be the standard of care.
My mission is to help Hashimoto’s patients to fell well again and to get their dignity and quality of life back.
I do this via applying the inner and outer game of Healing Hashimoto’s.
The inner game of healing is about your identity, your beliefs, and your associated feelings.
The truth is what you focus on becomes bigger.
You focus on health? Well, health grows…
You focus on chronic disease? Well, you get sicker…
When we are not well we do the second bit really well. And unfortunately, we are not so skilled at focusing on health.
This is why you can find me here on the internet – I’ve built this site for you.
To give you a nudge to focus on what you want instead of what you don’t want!
I am here with the single intention to get you moving towards remission via embarking on a hero’s journey.
Your hero’s journey!
We don’t have a lot of time…
I would have wished for a resource like this website to dig into on my worst days of inflammation.
I read a lot when I was going through bouts of inflammation and tiredness…
Due to my own challenges, I have come to understand that a new medical model is drastically needed.
Solving the chronic health epidemic in all of the western developed countries is one of the biggest challenges our society is facing as of today!
Especially in the treatment of Hashimoto’s, there is still so much work to do alongside the already exciting stuff happening right now.
I am convinced that a functional Medicine based approach can dramatically improve patient outcomes and overall care efficiency.
I’d like to play my part and contribute in a meaningful way to society.
If you are a parent, your children might benefit one day from Functional medicine.
My Mission is to Benefit you in the long-run for Life
My mission is to lead you as a Hashimoto’s patient in a step by step fashion into becoming an empowered, capable and health conscious Adult.
In this way, you can effectively execute the self-care needed to become well, strong and happy as an individual.
An overly technology-heavy, human touch lacking and sick-care based medical system let’s many patients with chronic diseases fall through the cracks.
Solutions are already here and it is time to get the word out! It’s just that we are the 1st generation…
My Self-care Manifesto for the Hashimoto’s Patient
Before self-care can happen there needs to be self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-confidence.
I believe that a lack of self-esteem is a huge reason why we have a growing chronic disease burden hitting our societies.
How this manifests is that as patients in a disease-centric medical system we pass on a lot of our own power to the doctor in front of us.
We expect a “magical pill” that will miraculously resolve our pain and take away all suffering. This will not work.
Instead, it is time to develop the necessary capacities as a human being that enables health on a mental, emotional and physical level.
All our daily actions are driven by our hidden inner working of the feelings and the mind.
What this means for you, to execute a highly technical, long-term focused, health building personalized treatment program based on functional medicine principles you need to install the right mental and emotional paradigms that will work for you.
We all need to feel that we are a human being and not a disease label.
We all need to feel in the marrow of our bone‘s that we deserve to feel well and can live a meaningful life in our communities.
In my opinion, a supplement alone cannot fix this.
We have to grow up and take charge of our destiny as an individual, as an active contributor to our society, and as a human being in a world with limitless potential for growth and unfolding.
Having health in your life is the enabler for all of this.
And never, in the time of mankind, we had so much information, tools and resources at our deposal to get well even after having been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.
Reading this will hopefully prove to you how committed and decisive I am about what I do…
The Secret Sauce to my Work as a Hashimoto’s Coach
I am a master at the inner game.
I am passionate about finding the emotional, mental and physical that are holding you back to find the root causes of Hashimoto’s.
I have been both a patient and a healthcare practitioner. As such I have experienced both perspectives.
My ability to pass on knowledge and my passion to share my own experiences of getting Hashimoto’s into remission with others makes me a capable coach and mentor to you, as a Hashimoto’s patient.
I love working 1 on 1 to get a feeling for the person and their journey.
My specialized approach though is to coach people through a highly focused and group-based mastermind process.
This approach will enable you to overcome your challenges and help you during a transition period of your life from disease back to wellness.
My core values in this work are Power, Compassion, and Clarity.
Hashimoto’s Patient, Researcher & Functional Medicine Advocate
I got diagnosed with this Hashimoto’s in 2012.
Over the last 5 years, because of this challenge, I ended up becoming a highly educated, in the trenches functional medicine experienced advocate for this type of medicine.
The operating system I used is a new and highly disruptive medical technology: Functional medicine.
Against all odds, I became symptom-free, healthy and strong again. And so can you. On my worst days, I was only lying in bed.
I am envisioning on a daily basis that treating Hashimoto’s with a Functional Medicine approach is going to be the standard of care in 10-15 years in all developed western countries.
So, A lot of work has to be done until then!
You see after reading hundreds of books over the last years and going through 1000´s of research papers I got some very specific insights…
Getting Hashimoto’s into remission is a long game and you can win it by playing by the rules.
Futureproofing Your Health in the 21st century
I believe that most of the health problems that we are experiencing in the 21st century are related to great historic and fast-paced changes which happened in the 20th century.
When you understand the past, you can understand the present moment, and only then can you envision a better future to come.
To become a lifelong learner lies at the heart of future proofing yourself and your family. I call this concept future proofing.
Once we get educated on a topic and go through an experience with this knowledge we have the opportunity to develop a true understanding of it.
My own life experience now turned me into a teacher, coach, and mentor in the Hashimoto’s Healing space.
And now I will do my part to make the world a bit better with the little I know.
The 20th-century impacts on our health
So here some facts about the situation which we are confronted with.
Western civilization developed from the industrial age to the petrochemical age, to the biochemical age to the digital age in a more 100 years.
In this process, a few things ended up having a massive impact on our overall health and our immune systems in particular.
Below I will address the 6 major root causes for a serious chronic disease epidemic that we have in western developed countries.
I am convinced that the drastic rise in chronic health conditions like an auto-immune disease, diabetes, and cancer are closely related to these global developments.
Lack of an overall self-care-capability resulting in low self-esteem
The massive decline of overall self-care capabilities in human beings is another huge factor.
More and more members of our society are experiencing learned helplessness.
Learned helplessness results in low self-esteem, low self-confidence, and low self-respect. As a result, one dislikes and judges oneself more and more harshly.
This self-judgment can also be called the inner critic. I believe this lies on an energetic level behind the felt auto-aggression often so common in autoimmune disease.
The 6 Major Root Causes for declining Health in Western Societies
- Nutrient deficient Diets, industrial foods and a lack of self-nurturing skills
- Extreme hormone dysregulation due to diet, excess stress and environmental toxins
- High immune system stress due to undiagnosed bacterial, viral and fungal infections
- Chronically sick digestive systems leading to leaky and inflamed guts
- Overburdened and toxic livers due to external and internal toxins
- A breakdown of cellular energy and organ function due to the former 5 reasons
During my journey of recovering my health, I found very specific solutions to the above-mentioned problems.
My conviction now is that Autoimmune Hashimoto’s arises due to the 6 above-mentioned problems. Below more info on my personal story.
Patient Coaching for Hashimoto´s Thyroiditis Patients
My mission these days is to inspire, educate and guide other people who suffer from Hashimoto´s. My wish is to be their champion so that we all can get better treatment!
Giving others the gift of getting their health back deeply satisfies me.
Especially here in Europe a lot of work needs to be done in the field of chronic disease treatment through educating doctors more about the incredible potentials of functional medicine.
Dr. Datis Kharrazian’s “Auto Immune Paleo” (AIP) Protocol
I tested and tried various approaches to get my Hashimoto’s into remission.
One of the conceptual frameworks that I subscribed to and applied heavily is based on the work of Dr. Datis Kharrazian.
The major opinion as of today by many experts on Hashimoto´s disease is that an overly aggressive immune system is attacking the Thyroid Gland and then is slowly destroying it.
Functional Medicine is focused on addressing the root causes of disease more so than conventional medicine.
Especially the autoimmune paleo Protocol devised by Dr. Datis Kharrazian appeals to me because it has a lot of science backing it up. You can read how the Hashimoto’s diet can reverse hypothyroid disease here.
A short Disclaimer and my values
What I have learned on my health journey is that health is a very complex and deep topic.
In the past when I was convinced of a healthy approach and I shared it widely and proclaimed it as gospel.
These days I am much more careful and I only suggest certain approaches when they are as much as possible free from profit-driven agendas, mass marketing tactics and greed-driven politics.
I try to keep these words below in my heart when exercising my craft and calling to help people with Hashimoto’s:
Traveling around the World once learning about Medicine and Healing
After my diagnosis in 2012, I worked together with doctors from 4 countries for over 3 years so as to uncover, treat and eliminate the root causes of the so-called incurable Autoimmune disease Hashimoto’s.
Many doctors had many interesting ideas and I dived right in:
This is what I had exposure to over the last 4 years:
- Western Medicine
- Integrative Medicine
- Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Classical Chinese Medicine
- Hunyuan Medicine
- Qi Gong
- Hatha Yoga
- Calligraphy Health Yoga
- Orthomolecular Medicine
- 30 Day Paleo
- Autoimmune Paleo
- Intermittent fasting
- Functional Medicine
- Tibetan Medicine
- Ayurvedic Medicine
- Functional Medicine
- Genetic Testing
- Somatic Therapy
- CBT and ACT
Do Your own Homework!
You will have to see for yourself and make your own experiments. That´s what I learned from my journey.
Going through my own health ordeal made me appreciate the depth and width of what different medical and healing approaches have to offer.
And most importantly I have seen the danger in the art and science of medicine when we are holding on to one single dogma, paradigm or outer authority:
In regards to medicine people’s life’s, jobs and their families are at stake so I hope more doctors will contemplate this fact more deeply how far reaching their advice or treatment can be.
